Five Reasons Why MGSV Is Going To Kick Ass

Like many other people we here at TVGS are anticipating the release of MGSV The Phantom Pain more and more each day. We thought it was about time to share our top five reasons why we believe The Phantom Pain is going to be one of the best games in the Metal Gear Solid saga.

No 1 - It will bridge the gap between Peace Walker & Metal Gear

We will finally find out the true reasons and motivations behind big bosses inherent madness in the early metal gear games released for the msx system. Sure we know why big boss was precieved as a villain due to his split from the patriots and zeros interpretation of the bosses will differing from big bosses interpretation. But we still have no clue as to why he turned in to an absolute nutter! Hopefully The Phantom Pain will bring the story full circle and answers many questions along the way.

No 2 - We will finally see Zero

If your like us your probably wondering how a James Bond loving, hamburger hating, middle aged English person would plot to take over the world and control humanity through a series of AI machines to carry on the will of a person he used to be in the SAS with... Yeah. The lack of back story that has been gifted to Zero and the bosses relationship is shockingly bad considering how big a character he is meant to be. A clear and believable relationship between the boss and zero is needed in order for his reasons to create the patriots to hold any weight at all. With The Phantom Pain these questions will hopefully be answered!

No 3 - Big Boss & Eli

So if you've been living under a rock for the past year or so, you must still be blissfully unaware of the character Eli that will be presented in The Phantom Pain. This character has been heavily hinted to be none other than the greatest villain known to gaming culture... the man... the legend Liquid Snake! It will be interesting to see the relationship between him and big boss develop as the game progresses and we can finally get some insight in to why Liquid had so many daddy issues.

No 4 - Mother base on an epic scale!

we were huge fans of the game systems that peace walker added to the metal gear solid formula, the ability to micro manage your very own army and base introduced a completely new dynamic to the series that were now glad to see returning for The Phantom Pain. The most exciting aspect of this mechanic returning is now having the ability to infiltrate other players bases to steal supplies as well as setup defenses for your own base like guard patrols, laser traps and aerial drones when your attacked by other players.

No 5 - Ocelot will be up to old tricks

Revolver Ocelot has an active role in The Phantom Pain and that can only mean one thing!... It's time for Ocelot to screw someone over... Big time. As in most Metal Gear Solid games Ocelot seems to be the one character in the series you can never quite predict and always seems to have something up his Russian sleeves. Although the story has stated that Ocelot idolized Big Boss, we cant help feeling that his actions throughout the game might not benefit big boss or that he has his own agenda all together. Will he find out The Boss was his mother? How will this revelation effect him as a character? Hopefully this will be addressed in The Phantom Pain.
